Mission
BLGC (Bolton Lads and Girls Club) is a vibrant and dedicated Children and Young People’s Charity in Bolton, offering both universal and targeted services to thousands of children and young people each year. Since their founding in 1889, they have been providing a safe and welcoming space for young people, and their mission to empower them to live happy, safe, and fulfilling lives remains at the heart of everything they do.

Programs
BLGC believes in the potential of every young person. Their services are open to all children and young people, providing a broad range of activities and opportunities for personal growth. Meanwhile, their Targeted Services offer essential interventions for those in need, ensuring that every young person has the support they need to overcome challenges and thrive. The dedicated team is committed to creating a nurturing environment where young people can explore their strengths, build resilience, and achieve their dreams. Together, they are building a brighter future for the next generation.

The goals of the program:

1. Improved physical, emotional and mental wellbeing through sport, physical activity, emotional health and wellbeing services and non clinical mental health provision.
2. Stronger and resilient children and young people to thrive with the love and support of their families. And provide support to overcome any challenges with this and help families build on their strengths.
3. Increased confidence and aspirations for a positive future. They want young people to have the best chances early in life to achieve their full potential in later life. Therefore a range of opportunities and programmes that help them deal with what can be a challenging transition to adulthood.

Impact
The work of BLGC is a lifeline for many. In 2024 they had 3134 active members in the youth club and supported 1474 young people acessed thier targeted youth services.
